Working With Us

What areas do you serve?
We are based in Romeo and work south across Metro Detroit, roughly a 50-mile range. Core areas include Sterling Heights, Clinton Township, Macomb, Shelby, Fraser, and the surrounding communities. If you are not sure whether your facility is in range, call and ask. We will give you a straight answer.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Bulldog Mechanical is a licensed and insured commercial plumbing and mechanical contractor. Licensing and insurance protect both your facility and our crew, and we can provide proof of coverage before work begins.
Do you work with commercial and residential customers?
Both, but our focus is commercial, industrial, and healthcare facilities. That is where most of our work lives: facility maintenance, mechanical piping, backflow testing, medical gas, and buildouts. We still handle residential remodel and repair work, but the commercial side is the core of the business.
How do I get a quote?
Send a few details through the quote form or call us directly. For most commercial work we will scope the job to the facility rather than give a flat-rate number over the phone, so the price you get reflects the actual work in front of us. For service calls and urgent issues, calling is fastest.
How fast can you respond?
It depends on the scope and current schedule, but we keep regular business hours Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings, and we prioritize facility issues that affect operations. Call for anything time-sensitive and we will tell you honestly when we can be there.

How We Price & Work

Do you charge by the hour or by the job?
Most work is scoped and quoted to the job, not billed against an open hourly clock. Commercial plumbing and mechanical work varies a lot by building, access, and condition, so we look at what is actually in front of us and quote it. No flat-rate guesswork.
Do you offer maintenance agreements?
Yes. For facility managers and multi-site portfolios, scheduled preventive maintenance keeps small issues from turning into emergencies and from interrupting operations. We can tailor an agreement to your buildings and systems.
Can you work with our facility manager or general contractor?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with facility managers, property managers, and GCs on scheduling, scope, and trade coordination. We are used to working as one accountable contractor on the mechanical and plumbing side of a larger project.

Plumbing & Mechanical Piping

Do you handle both new construction and existing buildings?
Yes. We install complete piping systems for new builds and tenant spaces, and we modify, extend, and repair systems in occupied facilities with minimal disruption.
What types of piping do you work with?
Copper, steel, stainless, PEX, PVC/CPVC, cast iron, and press systems, selected to match the application, code, and your facility's standards.
Can you work around our operating hours?
We schedule around production and business hours, including nights and weekends, to keep downtime to a minimum.

Backflow Testing & Repair

How often does backflow need to be tested?
Most jurisdictions require annual testing of backflow prevention assemblies on commercial, irrigation, and fire systems. We can track and schedule yours so it never lapses.
What happens if our assembly fails the test?
We repair or rebuild the assembly on site where possible, or replace it, then re-test and submit the passing report.
Is the testing certified and documented?
Testing is performed by certified technicians, and results are documented for your records and the water authority.

Facility Maintenance & Service

Do you offer service or maintenance contracts?
Yes. We set up recurring maintenance agreements and serve as an on-call partner for facility and property managers across our service area.
Do you handle multiple locations?
We work with single facilities and multi-site portfolios, coordinating scheduling and reporting across locations.
How quickly can you respond to a service call?
Response time depends on the agreement and the issue, but service-contract clients receive priority scheduling.

Medical Gas Systems

What facilities need medical gas systems?
Hospitals, surgical centers, clinics, dental and veterinary practices, and laboratories that use oxygen, medical air, vacuum, nitrogen, or other piped gases.
Do you install to healthcare codes?
Medical gas piping is installed and brazed to recognized medical gas standards, including NFPA 99, and coordinated with the required third-party verification.
Can you modify an existing medical gas system?
Yes. We add outlets, extend zones, and modify systems for renovations and healthcare tenant improvements.

Gas Piping

Can you add gas service for new equipment?
Yes. We size and run new gas piping for added equipment, and upsize existing systems when the load increases.
Do you handle both natural gas and propane?
We install and service both natural gas and LP/propane piping for commercial applications.
Is the work inspected?
Gas piping is pressure-tested and documented for the authority having jurisdiction, and we coordinate inspections as part of the job.

Commercial Buildouts

Do you work as a subcontractor to general contractors?
Yes. We regularly handle the plumbing and mechanical scope on commercial buildouts, coordinating with the general contractor and the other trades.
What kinds of spaces do you build out?
Offices, medical and dental suites, restaurants, retail, and light-industrial spaces, among others.
Can you help with coordination and value engineering?
We help with constructability, trade coordination, and practical alternatives to keep projects on budget and schedule.

Remodel & Renovation

Do you take on residential work?
Yes. Alongside our commercial work, we handle residential remodels, renovations, and repair-or-replace projects within our service area.
Can you handle a full kitchen or bath remodel?
We cover the complete plumbing scope for kitchen and bath remodels, from rough-in to setting the finished fixtures.
Do you replace water heaters?
We repair and replace traditional and tankless water heaters and can recommend the right option for your home.
